Self-care is my first priority.
I used to put work/ career as my first rank in life, for they gave me purpose and meanings. I work 7 days a week, sometimes 12 hours a day and not allowing myself to take break.
Then one day I look into the mirror, I no longer see sparks in my eyes and at that moment, I knew that something went wrong.
Then I started to do yoga. I started to meditate. I started to make it my everyday routine no matter what I have to do that day/ how full my schedule is. I still remember, on an early morning a couple months ago, a shooting day at the studio, I took time to sit for 15 minutes before my crew arrive. And it was one of the most smooth and great shoots I’ve done in years.
Work still gives me life purpose, but well-being gives me the key to access sustainable happiness (which allows me to work even better!). 🌳
